Josef & Ande recently ventured to India to showcase our great wines in Mumbai and Bangalore.

Not only did they drink some great wine from Grover Winery, but they also saw some amazing sights and fabulous food that only India can offer.

Recipe of the Month: Sharday’s Banana Cake

This recipe is super easy and is perfect for getting rid of brown bananas, given to me by my friend Gabby.

A daily ritual at the Broken Gate office is morning tea. Georgie makes everyone a great coffee and this cake always goes down a treat. Even Sam the Lorikeet loves it!

Cake Mix

125g butter
1 1/2 cups of sugar
2 ripe mashed bananas
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla essence
100ml buttermilk
1 1/2 cups self-raising flour
1/2 tsp bi-carb soda
Squeeze of lemon juice

Icing Mix

125g cream cheese
50g butter
1/2 cup icing sugar
1 1/2 tsp buttermilk

Method

Preheat the oven to 180°c
Line a medium sized pan with baking paper or butter/flour combo
Add all the wet ingredients together, then slowly mix in the wet ingredients
Bake for 1 hour (the skewer should be clean when testing if it’s finished)
